Dogs (again!)

I'll be having Rufus to stay soon for his two weeks' holiday while his humans go away.  I was wondering, all you dog owners, when you have to go out and leave your dog, do you put the radio on for a bit of company for them?  I always feel so mean if I have
to leave him for a couple of hours, and I wondered if this would help - him or me, I'm not quite sure!
