Recently on a small site my wife was walking towards the toilet block when out of the toilet door came a woman with her dog (on a lead). Her husband was just a little further on with another dog.

My wife somewhat taken aback said very calmly but directly to the woman, do you really think you should take your dog into toilets that other people have to use after you?

The response was "well no-one has complained before"!!

On her way back to our van my wife heard her husband shouting abuse from at her from inside his awning, brave man as my wife is about 5' 4" and he was about 6ft.

I imagine there will be a variety of views on this incident with the dog, it will be interesting to hear whether people feel it is acceptable to take a dog into the toilet block on a campsite.

NO....its disgraceful and only fuels the none dog owners dislike of dogs and owners. My one goes in my bathroom but I would not ream of doing this. They should have been reported and booted off the site. Obviously low life as no "gentleman" should ever verbally
    abuse a lady.

The Dog isn't in the least at fault. It's the owner who was showing a total disregard for others & arrogantly thinking it was their right to do it-wrongly.

Maybe your wife should of spoken to the warden as confronting people causes friction the man was in the wrrong for the way he shouted at your wife I dont think its right to take animals into toilet but it down to the warden to decide and not your wife

Can't agree on this one cabbiemick sorry.

Animals in toilet blocks are an absolute no no. I would certainly challenge anyone taking a dog into one.

Agree with R2B, not the dogs fault it has stupid owners.

I don't think the warden has anything to decide. I have never ever known a site that allows dogs in a toilet block. Furthermore if a 6' bloke verbally abused my wife I would be sticking a 6' awning pole somewere he would rather not have it. I despise ungentlemanly
    behaviour towards women.

I do agree fysherman about the dog the dog properly had more common sense then the owner I just think confronting people causes more problems if the wardens spoke to her it would be better all round

I think it is unacceptable to take any animal other than human into the facilities block, including washing up area, laundry & toilets.  All these ignorant people do is be-little all responsible dog owners.  I also think dog owners who allow there dogs to
be tied up outside and bark should be asked by the wardens to rectify it or leave.  I know my dog is not perfect but I would never expect anyone esle to be put out by anything me and my dog do on site.  The same as I would not expect to see children playing
ball games in the dog walk I would never take my dog anywhere he shouldn't be

Fair enough mate. We are all different and as a cabbie I am sure you are better than most at dealing with stupid people.

We seem to have gone back to an earlier century with all this chivalrous talk. Undecided

If anyone hears any abuse thrown at me please do not feel the need to get involved. I can look after myself despite being female and shorter than the OPs wife.

Dogs in site buildings is a no no from me as well

It's absolutely wrong and indefensible but, as has been said, it's not the dog's fault and simply another example of irresponsible and thoughtless dog ownership.

    Good for you JayEss.

My other half has a job that occasionally can put her in potentially quite serious confrontational situations when help might not be available.

She too can look after herself (and me, i'm a wimp) perfectly well.
