Charging the batteries

Hi just wondering 

when on hookup I know the leisure battery gets charged but does the vehicle battery get charged only asking really as I can have the vehicle radio/cd player on without the engine running and there is provisions for rear speakers 

I don't want to risk having the radio on and then running the vehicle battery flat while thinking that it's being charged from the hookup
