Newbie Awning Problems

As a newbie I not sure of how much help I can get here but when we put our Sherwood awning up (supplied with our van when we purchased it) the Side panels are never level i.e. they slope back and downward towards the van when the front poles are tensioned.
I think the awning is too big myself but having checked the awning size, 10m and the recomended size for a Sprite Major 6, 9.99m I am a bit at a lost. It works fine and is completely functional and waterproof, it just looks wrong compared to other awnings
on site.

Any ideas?
