Setting up TV

I don't know if anyone can help, this is me being a bit dense I think.

I recently bought a caravan that already has a TV in it, it also has one of those ariels on the roof that looks like a wee satellite dish.

Should I just be able to tune in and use the TV, or is there more to it?  I did try briefly and it just wasn't tuning, maybe I was doing something wrong.

I've never had a TV while caravanning before, but as it's there I may as well know how to use it...
