Audi A4 Allroad?
Hi everyone,
So I am going to get a caravan this year and for that I need a towcar plus a new car anyway. So I was wondering if any of you have any experience with an Audi A4 Allroad? Speficically I am thinking of getting this one or something very similar: http://www.carwoof.co.uk/used-cars/audi/a4-allroad/used-audi-a4-allroad-tdi-cr-quattro-leeds-787984.html
Or are there any other cars I should be considering? As you can see this car doesn't have a tow bar any idea how much they cost to purchase/install for such a car?
Thanks!

It depends on the weight of caravan you intend towing however As an Audi fan I would say go for it! Just make sure the cambelt and water pump have been changed. You may also get something with a better spec such as heated leather so shop around. My guesstimate
is A tow bar will be anything from £500 upwards depending on type fitted.0 -
I have the slighly smaller version, a little lighter with less chrome and flashing lights, just has a Skoda badge instead, Skoda Octavia
Estate 2.0TDi 4x4. Same engine, Haldex unit and running gear, good engine, torque 320nm @ 1,750-2,500rpm and of course extra traction on muddy fields. Normal running about 90% power to front wheels and 10% to rear, when the front start to slip, more power
is sent to rear wheels as and when needed. As said above, check your caravan weight for a good match.0 -
I think the A4 Quattros, Allroad included, have a Torsen dif not Haldex as the A4 doesn't have a transverse engine. You will find endless debate on the web as to which is better. Suffice to say if it is a good match for your van it should be a good towcar.
