Is Scotland the same as Wales?

Our very first trip to Scotland, we stayed at Queensberry Bay in Powfoot for 7 nights, when I told my wife the name Powfoot she said "that sounds like a welsh town" no says I it's scottish....after 7 days of heavy rain mostly torrential I can see what she
means, we went to Wales 3 years running and guess what...it rained all the time so I can see where she's coming from, is it a Celtic thing all this rain?
