Hello, I booked a 3 night stay at the Grantchester site in York in September because the location was just perfect. However I since have seen several reviews making a point that the toilets, and showers are unisex and that has put me off. Has anyone been
to this site and could you enlighten me please - By the way I know it is a caravan and camping club site but it does allow non members to use it

This is a C&CC CS. The reviews are full of praise and nowhere can I see anything about the facilities being unisex.

    Just go for it!

Normally you get a cubicle to yourself you dont have to share that is optional

Trip advisor comments on this site are full of unease about sharing the space with the other sex in the toilet block, why I don't know
Sad there are doors for modesty and take some headphones if the 'noises' are too much to bear

We have stayed at many CLs/CSs which have shared facilities and it has never been a problem. I'd just go for it, after all it's only for 3 nights and you'll only be spending a tiny fraction of that time in the facilities!

    Enjoy! Happy

We stayed on a CS just recently and the 'toilet block' was a sort of hut with 2 toilet cubicles separated by a wash basin and a single shower cubicle.

Not ideally what we would want (especially when a CS can take up to 10 tents as well as 5 caravans, so the facilities get used a lot more)....... but we survived it Wink

If the site itself looks nice and it's where you want to be, I'd give it a go.

Actually, the facilities block looks quite pleasant in the
    photos
    .

Bit concerning that the photos seem to show more than 5 caravans / motorhomes though.

    It's a 15 pitch private site, not a CL/CS. Looks rather nice.

It says under 'About Us' that it's "currently a 15 pitch CL"......which is even more confusing. But it does look nice.

    It definitely says it's a CS -

    5 vans and 10 tents/trailer tents.

Just use your own facilities if you don't like unisex, that's why vans have them, not just for storageWink
