Recommend some good sites in the Lake District

Hi All

Once the wind and rain have subsided and the sun has started to shine once more, my wife an I are planning a trip to the lake district. This will be our first time to the lakes with the caravan, so we would appreciate any recommendations for good sites.
we both love walking and also like the water so sites near the lakes or with rivers nearby would be good.
