Heavy Duty Towing (advice and recommendation)

Having only recently found out that our Ford S-Max 1.8TDCi Zetec has a tow limit of only 1450kg and not the 1700kg we were led to believe, we're on the hunt for a replacement with a bit more oomph.

There are a couple of boxes to tick though:

1. MTPLM is 1565kg

2. Needs to give aroud 40mpg (combined)

3. Needs to be affordable 2nd hand (£7 - £8k without too many miles)

4. Needs to have a boot big enough to get all the gear in.

Needless to say the caravan is out of bounds until we sort this little teaser. Oh and the OH needs to like it too as she will drive it solo a fair bit.
