Nose weight

Evening all,

Am after a bit of advice being new to this towing game.

We have an xtrail, max towing 2000kgs, nose weight 100kg. Is this nose weight a maximum?, suggested? if neither can anybody advise me on what it should be as am looking to buy a nose gauge just to be on the safe side.

caravan is a side axle.
