Help needed re-water pump

Hi all can anybody help on our 2nd day of a weeks holuday near Leek, and we have a problem with our water pump it seems to be running, but no water is coming out of the taps.We have cleaned out the filter but still no luck,Pump sounds weak running could
it be an air lock.  Sally
