Had a towbar and 13 pin socket fitted by the dealer to my 2.2 Avensis about a month ago. This was not my preferred choice of fitter, but as the car is still under warranty my options were limited. I was a little concerned when they seemed unaware of the
existence of the 13 pin socket, but several explanations using minimum syllables seemed to get my wishes made clear. However, have just taken the van away for the first time and have noticed that neither the reversing light or the rear fog lights are disabled
on the car when the van is plugged in. Also, I am not convinced that there is any power getting to the van from the car. I base this on the fact that the fridge is not running with the connection made and the engine is running. It must be 25 years since I
last had a van, but I am thinking that none of this is right?
