Lady wardens
Now I recently saw an advert for club sites and the interesting fact about this was a picture of the lady warden riding round on the grasscutter. I'm not aganst it in any way but I've never actually seen it happen, its usually the men folk who seem to get
this duty, but then maybe I've not been in the right place at the right time.

Why is that noteworthy? They are employed equally and many's the time I've seen female wardens grass cutting.

Applause, it's the 21st century,
the pesky beggars are everywhere doing everything Men do, mostly better too0 -
Doesn't matter if they're lady wardens or men wardens does it? They're wardens, full stop!

I think we're of one mind here. It's called equality.
Now, shall we start a thread about a male warden sat behind the desk booking people in?

Lady wardens are better looking than male wardens
not to females perhaps?

I expect the ladies are as keen as the men to have a go with the "toys"! Our son lives out in the country and has a lot of grass to cut, it's his wife who uses the ride on mower.
She also cuts the hedges and does all the gardening, painting and wallpapering.

I think its becoming more and more a multi-sex role. Traditionally, the men did the outside stuff and the ladies stayed in the office. I have seen more and more ladies out and about cutting the grass, trimming hedges and doing the bin collection run.
Its also good to see that the club now have a number of same sex couples working as wardens which is excellent.

The gender of the warden should have no bearing on how they do their job. The CC is an equal opportunity organisation. --Gender, Sexuality, Religious beliefs or Ethnic background is and never has been a factor in head office appointing a member of staff.

As the civilised World slowly moves into a more welcoming place for everyone I've noticed there are still some that cling onto the old term-'PC' which was a failed experiment to force change in a totally skewed way. PC is no longer it has been replaced by
the far better mindset of equality for all. Still a ways to go but we're getting there0 -
I'm still surprised to find people commenting about female and same gender couples as wardens. Surely it's no longer worthy of comment in this day and age? As I said on page 1, all wardens are employed on an equal basis.
Rocky is right in saying there's a way to go yet until all people are accepted equally.

If we are refering to "Lady" wardens then to be equal we must refer to "Gentlemen" wardens as well. If it is to be "men" wardens then the equal term is "women" wardens.
I know which pairing I prefer to hear.

My low growl of tolerance regarding "women doing this, and men doing that" is slowly becoming a lot less friendly.
People, person, worker, achiever. Gender is immaterial. At least in what we like to think of as a modern inclusive society.
I believe there are small enclaves where dinosaurs are clinging on though.

It was worthy of comment due to the nature of the discussion. I was making a point of how great it is to see the club embrassing equality specifically in this example of employing same sex couples. Unfortunately, regardless of legislation and what we perceive
to be a wind of change recently there is still a lot of undercurrent homophobia both mainstream and in large corporations. I was praising the club for once.0 -

Write your comments here...Disagree -- IMO you are incorrect in your accusation that there is an undercurrent of homophobia. ------That died out completely in the 1990's certainly north of the border.
The population of the UK is totally inclusive and everybody is equal no matter their Gender, Country of origin, Sexuality , Religious beliefs or Colour of skin. Thats how it is and how it should be.
To say otherwise is IMO creating divisions where there are none.

It's about perceptions and attitudes. Of course CC have it right as they'd be in big trouble otherwise.
