Awning dimension

I'm considering buying a full awning for my caravan, as the porch awning is proving to be a little small when the family visit on site.  The awning rail dimension for my caravan as specified by Elddis is 1000cm.  Taking the Dorema Daytona awning as an example, two sizes would appear to fit: size 14 (975-1000) and size 15 (1000-1025).

Size 14 would seem to be a perfect fit, but is there any reason why it would be better to choose the next size up?  (In which case, with a size 15, what happens with the extra 25cm of excess material ?)

Having never owned a full awning I would appreciate any advice on which would be the better size to choose.

You are going to get a lot of different answers on this one. We bought a caravan which had an awning rail measurement  of 1001cm it came with a dorema awning that was 1000-1025cm and in my opinion it was always a little big and water pooled on the roof so
it probably would have been better to have had the smaller size. However it wasn't the end of the world

Whereass I would have gone for the larger Giggling I would think it easier to loose the excess by pegging wider at the back compared with fitting on a pitch when the awning side of the van has had to be raised to level

Not a lot of different answers
