Tow Car Tyres / Buying replacements
This is a basic tip to save money when buying new tyres for your towing vehicle. I should stressI am not connected with this tyre source. For the last five years I have been using a tyre supplier called Tyre Leader. Website is very clear in it's format
for sourcing like for like with what your car may have had fitted from new but also offers a comprehensive comparison facility should you be looking for alternative makes and qualities. They can supply just about any make,size and quality from stock on a supply
only basis. Delivery to your door by courier normally 5 working days . These have been confirmed as not being seconds but the same as would be from your High Street supplier. The savings are unbelievable and I have used them on four occasions now on various
on different vehicles. A great cost saving on my motoring.

I just use my local independant tyre place ..... if asked he'll match the interweb. He knows his stuff, doesn't tighten bolts to silly lbft & I've trust him for years not to rip me off
Write your comments here...I respect your comments but when I say a "saving" I mean it...I was buying N6000 NEXEN tyres for my Mondeo low profile from my local dealer at price of £102.60 and I told him I was getting a better price offered elswhere so he
brought price down to £96.20....At that time Tyre Leader were selling me them including delivery to my home for £ 78..Min order quantity 2 for free delivery via DPD....a local tyre shop changed over inc new valve, balance and vat for £10 per wheel so great

But who will fit them? ....
£10 a tyre aparently .. But like you, I'd be embarassed to ask a local tyre fitter to fit a tyre I'd bought elsewhere.
If we don't use our local independant (what ever they sell), they'll close down like the local shops have in the face of competition from the big supermarkets etc

Just over a year ago, I asked my local garage to get me a price for four General Grabber ATs for my Touareg. They wanted close to £200 each as compared with (I think), Tyres Direct, on-line who were asking about £120. They fully understood me going to Tyres Direct (who shift about 3000 tyres per week according to them - hence the discount) and were quite happy to fit them for me for £10 per tyre including valves, balancing etc. They were more than happy to do this for me in the knowledge that we use them for both mine and my wife's car for other things - so we do continue to support small local businesses.

I agree, we always use our local independent. Just pop in when they are ready for changing and if he hasn't got what you want they will be there the next day. Always ready to talk cheaper alternatives, it is usually me that insists on the more expensive

In my area I know that any tyre fitting premises will treat fitting tyres supplied by you as quite acceptable as it is a job and they ask £10 per wheel so it's business...No need to be embarrassed to ask...I once changed 4 tyres which had still 3mm tread
but wanted to change pre season as was going away for 15 weeks with caravan....The tyre garage I approached offered to fit my new (supplied by me) for £10 each but also wanted to buy off me the 4 tyres coming off the car and gave me £10 each so paid nothing
at all on the deal...The make of tyres going on were exactly the same make and spec as those coming off....If that's not a deal on saving your motoring costs I don't what is.0 -
Just had new tyre fitted to the front. I use a site called Asdatyres to see whats available and at what price. From that site you can see who are your local stockists.
On TyreLeader the tyre I had fitted were £92 each. I've had the same fitted at a local independent that I've used for years for £103 per wheel, fitted , valve and balance.

I use a site called eBay and shop around for the best price. It's my money so why should I pay over the odds? Only a few years ago I got a full set of michelins for my FL2 which had been on a brand new car the buyer of which had dealer fitted alloy wheel
upgrade Before taking delivery. Cost? £110 for all 4 tyres.0
