Ile d'Oleron, France

Hi, just returned from our summer hols in France and now starting to research for next year! We are considering going to the Ile d'Oleron for two weeks at the start of August.  Does anyone have any tips or advice? Any site recommendations - or places to
avoid?  Is the traffic a real issue as I keep reading, and what about mosquitos?

Any reviews, advice and help would be very gratefully received.  Thanks
