Battery not holding a charge

We are new to touring and have bought a 2003 Stirling Topaz. This has been very well maintained by its owners and a new battery was fitted before we purchased it as they knew that the old one was not holding it's charge.  We have found that the indicator
inside the van shows that the battery is fully charged after a journey or plugged into the mains at home, but loses it's charge overnight when the electricity is disconnected.  As far as we know we have turned everything off via the main switch, but being
novices we wonder whether we are missing something which is obvious to seasoned caravanners.  Any advice would be gratefully received.
