Caravan width

Hello,

I'm a caravanner from Italy. In August together with another family we'd like to travel to Scotland all the way from our country. The point is that my friend owns a 560 Hobby caravan, in the 2.50 width type. Is it legal to travel in the UK with caravans
larger than 2.29?
