Towcar of the year

Have you ever been tempted to buy the "towcar of the year" at any time and done so? If so which and did you agree with the choice or find that it did not meet expectations?

In 2004 I bought the Subaru Forester (the pocket rocket) 2ltr, petrol and have had no regrets whatever. Just hope that when it needs replacing the new car will live up to expectations as the current one has.  Well done to the club for doing the work for me.
