Paying six weeks in advance

In the past the most I have been asked for by way of a deposit, and I completely understand the need for them, is £25. I have just booked a Cl for a week in mid July and sent off the 50% deposit mentioned on the site details which was £50. So double what
I have paid before.

I was surprised to get a confirmation of the booking asking for the total amount for the week i.e. £105. When I queried it the site owner said that the club had advised him to ask for payment in full six weeks before the booking. As I only booked four weeks
in advance he is going to accept the deposit and I can pay on arrival.

Has anyone else come across this before? I have to say if he had insisted on payment in full I would have cancelled the booking and my cheque.
