Breakdown and insurance cover for car and caravan

Hello,

We are new to towing a caravan, husbands a HGV driver, we have towed trailers and trailer tents, had a 28ft caravan we just towed and kept on site only. We are now buying a smaller one, so we can now travel the UK, 23ft (I think),  which fits with the Honda CRV 75% and now not sure what we do for cover as hearing so many different stories about breakdowns where they won't take you if towing a caravan and it has to be under a certain length and the fact we will have dogs in the car. So my question is, if we have two dogs in a Honda CRV towing a Adria Sportline DT 2015 who is the best breakdown company to use, I've heard Mayday mentioned? We are currently with the AA for just the car. Also for insurance I presume it's just shop around and get a good price (will be gettign a quote from CC as well)
