Replacing caravan tyres
Our caravan is a Swift from 2005, and the tyres fitted to it (from 2011) use a strange tyre convention I've never seen before.
We need 175 r14 99 tyres. There don't seem to be many places that stock these tyres. Other caravans from the
same manufacturer and the same year specify their tyres in a more common format, e.g. 205/65 r15 102.
Is there a way of converting 175 r14 99 to more commonly understood tyre format?

I think the 175 R14 99 means that it is a 175 (mm) width tyre of standard profile (usually about 80%) not a "low" profile tyre like the 205/65 you quote. The R14 is the rim diameter and 99 will be the load rating (990 kgs I think).
There is nothing particularly unusual about the code 175 R14 99 and a google search seems to produce several results.
I hope that helps......

The 'default' tyre profile is 80 (80% of the tread width) so in more standardised form, your tyre is a 175/80 R14 with a load index of 99.
I'd recommend the 'Hankook Vantra' tyre, my van seems noticeably better to tow with them fitted for this season.
