Story photo sizing

I feel sure I have seen it somewhere but can't seem to find it right now. When posting any 'standard format' (4x3) photo for the stories they seem to end up stretched horizontally somewhat.

My question is: What size ratio and ideally what pixel size is best for photos to post for stories?
