Nothing to grumble about...
I was camping in the West country over the bank holiday weekend. I had not intended to be either camping over the bank holiday nor on a large site, CC or otherwise, (something I normally avoid doing like the plague) but this time circumstances dictated a
change of plan at the very last minute.
The site was full to capacity. Kids playing everywhere, laughing, having fun, running around, yet by 10 o-clock it was as though someone had flicked a switch. Peace, quiet. Amazing.
Dogs everywhere, happy owners, at times like a doggy playground, no mess though, no mess, little barking, just happy dogs with happy owners.
The facilities were spotless everytime I went in them, the staff never seemed to stop working to keep the place neat and tidy.
My neighbours were pleasant. A solo elderly man one side, middle-aged couple the other. We said hello when we saw each other, and on the last night when I was sat out writing my notes and having a glass of wine the man next door said hello and we ended up
having a pleasant evening chatting over a glass of wine.
Quite strange really, three nights over a bank holiday on a crowded camping site and absolutely nothing to grumble about. Nice kids, nice doggies, nice facilities, nice site staff, nice neighbours and a really nice weekend.
