Hello

Can anyone help please?Happy

We have just bought a new caravan and are going away to Germany soon.  Our old caravan had an 85cm dish which worked fine over there however we dont think the new van has the available space to fit another dish so we were looking at domes.

We are looking for one that has auto-skew and twin lnb so that we can use the sky live features however we are receiving conflicting information as to which domes (if any in some cases) will cover the area we want.Worried

Does anyone have any experience or advice they could share with me please, Im running out of time before my holidays to buy and fit one xCool

Thanks in advance x

I've no experiance of Domes as such but we do tour in Germany/France/Holland/Belgium/Spain/Luxembourg. Since they narrowed the spot beam most of these places require a 65cm or better 85cm dish, or equivalent Dome. The further East and South you go you will
lose the signal that gives you UK tv channels, like BBC, ITV if using a Sky box and you have pay channels you will get channels further than just using freesat, but you will eventualy lose BBC and ITV.

I take it you are thinking of a free standing self seeking dome that doesn't need to be fitted to the roof but can sit on the ground or a table. Just make sure you get one that is at least 65cm equivalent but better to go for the 85cm equivalent.

Don't bother with all the expensive kit. Waste of good money.we winter on the Costa del Sol about 25k from Gib. When the Sat signal altered back in 2013 everything went blank, no UK TV channels. If your on sites
with WiFi get a £35 WiFi booster connect in to HDMI on your laptop then through to your TV with HDMI/USB connector. Download Film ON.com you have all UK channels to choose from plus a few dozen more. Most of the UK winterizers on the site could not beleive
what I was getting!! They had all paid up to EURO350-400 for dishes and boxes, total rip off!!

We winter over from October-March have not missed "Strictley" or other fav's, try it it does work, best Booster kit off Ebay, called Kuma around £35, all the best.

We also use filmon when in Spain. We have a wifi booster which helps but you have to remember not all sites have decent wifi, you over winter in one place when you're touring its not always possible to get a good wifi signal even if you boost it.

However the OP is talking of Germany where it is perfectly possible to get good freesat and if the OP has a Sky box he will have no problem at all.
