Why don't caravan manufacturers give us a choice?

I'm talking about the caravan interior design.

We don't use our shower for showering - it's used for storing our waste and clean water carriers when towing.  We don't use our oven - we can cook anything we need/want on the hob, using the pressure cooker if we want to cook a joint or make a chili.  We buy fresh food on holiday so don't need a microwave to defrost anything.

I know many people do want a shower/oven/microwave but why can't customers specify at time of purchase what they would like in their new caravan?  Surely the spaces devoted to an oven or a microwave could very easily be replaced by cupboards without any major alteration to the caravan layout.  Our oven acts as a storage space but a cupboard would offer more space.

As for the shower, well I guess there might come a time when we need to use it for showering, and it's somewhere to hang wet coats, but in the meantime I'll continue to use the on-site facilities.

Does anyone else feel the same or am I on my own with this?
