Hello Fellow Audi/VW Owners,

I can see an old thread from 3 years ago discussing the fact that not all electrics work even on new cars.

I own an Audi A6 Allroad and have done since it was 6 months old and I discovered that neither the fridgr or the battery charger were working, My own Caravan Engineer did not notice or tell me anything but I had to use another Engineer whilst staying on
Clumber Park. (He was excellent by the way, I thoroughly recomend him to those in the area.) I happened to mention the problem of the charger and the fridge and straight away he said the problem lies with your Audi Towing Bracket, apparently when Audi/VW fit
their towbars and electrics for some unknown reason they do not automatically fit a seperate unit that controls or allows the power to reach what would be the grey plug. It is down to me to soecify that I need this fitting and Audi will do so at a cost of
over £150. I have now checked the grey pins as I as I am still using a twin adapter and can confirm a definite lack of power to those pins.

To me this is scandalous when you order a towbar and electrics for towing a caravan you should be given everything not just part of it. I have yet to contact Audi myself but I certainly shall be, I just wanted to update the previous thread which dates back
to Feb 2012. I wonder if the Caravan Club would be able to mention our concerns to Audi/VW Group in the UK so that a collective argument could be submitted?

I will post a further update once I have spoken to my Audi agent.
