Strange thing happened when booking a site

Booking a site late last night, had to have 3 shots as system kept throwing up an error, then it told me I could not book as I had already booked.  Checked my bookings and sure enough the booking had been made, so everyting  apparently OK after all.

This morning, decided to check I had he dates correct, and found that the system had made 2 identical bookings for the same site on the same dates, with different reference numbers.

Something that I thought the system did not allow.

Only one confirmation e mail was received last night.

I have since cancelled the duplicate booking, so all now OK , I hope!!

That happened to me a few months ago too.  Booked Moreton-in-Marsh, as well as a couple of other sites, and when I looked on the CC website to check my bookings, lo and behold, M-i-M was booked twice for the same days!  The others were only booked once.
So I did what you did, cancelled the duplicate booking and all seems well now.

As long as "the system" doesn't inadvertently delete any bookings Winking

A similar thing happened to us last year, which only came to light because we decided to stay on for an extra night at another site.

The warden on the first site said she would phone the second site to amend our booking.  When she phoned the second site, the warden there said we had 2 identical bookings for the same dates Surprised
I didn't think this could happen.

I wonder if you did not notice, could you receive a warning email. Or would the fact you are there on another booking stop it generating one.

I did wonder that too, Steve.  I thought the fact that we would be on the same site at the same time as not turning up on that same site "should" prevent that.  But then again.......

And I also wondered whether 2 pitches would be unavailable, due to us having 2 allocated to us at the same time, rather than just 1.  If you start thinking about the possible scenarios, you could go on and on Yell

Possibly the best way to deal with the problem would be to ring the booking service who could make sure the problem was resolved.

I had a double booking at Cadeside a couple of months back. Got two E Mail confirmations as well. This is CC IT after all. Undecided

Look on the bright side, it takes less time to double book on this site than to get a single booking done on the C&CC web site and you can see what you are paying before you book.
