As most sensible people have said it's horses for courses, what suits me may not suit you. However, I've towed caravans in the past and currently use a motorhome, sometimes solo, sometimes towing a car on a proper car trailer, incidentally fitted with motor
movers. Wether or not I take the car depends on the particular trip I'm making.

Why do I do it this way? I tend to do long distances and long distances in a large motorhome are way easier than in a car, (IMO), pull into a service station or lay-by and I don't even have to get out, night halts become a doddle, on many sites I can just
pull onto a pitch and thats it, particularly in France. Also, simply the ammount of space inside when you're driving is more pleasant.

For those who have not tried it, personally I think it's way easier to tow a small vehicle behind a large one than the other way on, but again you do what's right for you. As far as costs, it's probably swings & roundabouts.

Whatever way you go just enjoy it.

We are looking to retire early soon and take an extended European tour , quite fancy taking our MX5 on a trailer for a bit of fun driving! We take bikes with us usually for getting around...
