Super pitch water supply

My wife has just seen a caravan connected to the "mains supply" on our recent trip oooop north.....She remarked that she could take longer showers if we had the same on our van (!!!) to save me going back and forth filling and emptying containers - at least it keeps me fit !

So the question is :-  which connection system is best for mains water ?

ball valve connector to our 51 litre water hog or mains connector to caravan....We have a whale submersible type pump so assume its a whale connector ( large square "plug" ) on the van to a Truma water heater.
