Oversealing - Anyone have any opinions.

Hi all,

My caravan has some bad damp and needs sorting out.

My expectation was that the engineer would remove and re-seal the awning rail in the offending area before working on the interior. What is being recommend is an "overseal"  followed by, when the caravan dries out, some interior work.

Has anyone had any experience of oversealing? How reliable is it? How long is it likely to last? Is there anything is should be aware of?
