Corner Steady Grease

Hi, my rear steadies are getting pretty stiff, when winding up and down. I used to use normal old fashoined grease on the steadies of my old van. But I have read that, is it silicon grease?, Is now the way to go ? It doesn't pick up road grit and dirt as
badly as normal grease, I think ?!

Does anyone have a recommendations or comments on the two different types ?
