Saddened  to  hear  that  the  'Original'  Little  Master,  Hanif  has  passed  away  aged  81  .

One  of  my  boyhood  heros,  he  held  the  record  for  the  longest  Cricket  Test  match  Innings

Also  his  499  was  the  highest  First  class  score  for  45  years,  until  Brian  Charles  Lara  started  rewriting   the  record  book.

Rest  in  Peace  Hanif.

    I hadn't heard that news and it's very sad - although the fact that he was in his 80's is a bit of a wake up call I must say! I can remember how he and his brother Mushtaq were probably among  the first to bring Pakistani cricket to the world's attention
    and role models for the many fine cricketers that country has since produced. A very sad loss.
