I'm currently staying at Bolton Abbey Estate CC site and whilst i will be here for several more days, i would like to thank the Wardens Brian and Shirley Hodson for their kindness and assistance.
Whilst enroute to the site, my towcar developed a fault about 40 miles from the site and although i wasn't sure if i would actually make it i phoned ahead, explained my problem and gave an eta. Somehow i made it and the warden gave me details of a garage
within easy reach.
To cut a long story short, we have been without our car for 8 days of our stay. As there is no mobile signal and the payphone on site will not accept incoming calls, the wardens have been brilliant in relaying messages from the garage to me.
The bus service from site is not exactly regular and the nearest shops accessible by bus are in Grassington. On realising i had no wine left i went to look at the bus times to Grassington and noticed that i wouldn't be able to get back if i went there. The
Warden offered me a bottle of wine until i could get there!
Some of the stuff the wardens have done for us could be classed as part of the job description but their freindliness and concerns (asking about our car and if we needed anything) and also the kind offer of the wine in my opinion went beyond the call of
duty!
A VERY big thank you to Brian and Shirley who have made what could have been a very stressful stay much more bearable.
I got my car back from the garage today.....It needed 2 fuel injectors. I am now £1,116 lighter in the pocket. OUCH!
