Proposed changes to F.A. /League Cups
It appears that the F. A. has some novel suggestions to remove the Fans pleasure in Cup Games, in order to allow our poor over-worked players to play more happily in the European cups & International Tournaments without
feeling so tired !!
Good to see they have these players welfare at heart isn't it

They're just pampering to the wishes of all these foreign managers who are now in charge of the majority of our top teams.

It's another nail in the coffin of the idea that sport, in this case soccer, is an entertainment for fans and supporters rather than simply big business interests. I've long stopped having any interest in the so-called English Premier League - largely foreign
owned and foreign managed they have no real interest in the game further down the pyramid. They simply look after number one and the rest can go hang. It's a very sad indictment of the power of TV (IMHO, obviously!)0 -

The premier league, in my opinion, portrays all
that is wrong with modern day football, namely GREED!!! I used to love going to watch football as a lad with my Dad and Uncles, mostly Div's 1 & 2 (Everton & Sheff Utd) Not any more, too many cheats and spoilt brats posing as footballers.....0 -
I wish all the nation's clubs not in the Premier League would all get together and stage a formal protest. Replays are a vital source of income for the smaller clubs, and they give the competition real excitement for the clubs and especially the fans. That's
what the FA Cup is all about. It's easily the best domestic knock-out competition in world football, but the F.A. and Premier League will kill it stone dead if they have their way.0 -

You could well be right there.I,m waiting too see how Guardiola will go on in the premier league when he,s playing 4 games in 10 or 12 days in all weathers aswell as competeing on 4 different fronts and copeing with the press who the minute he puts a foot
wrong will be down on him like a ton of bricks.peter.

I've never had a lot of time for Arsene Wenger who did so much to ntroduce the concept of the non-British eam to the Premier League. But I have to say he went up in my estimation enormously this week by pointing out the Premer League clubs have more than enough players in their squads to cope with replays and other occasional midweek matches.
Maybe if the clubs want to ease the pressure on their players they could cut out the ridiculous (but financially lucrative) pre- and post-season tours to various hot spots!
