Don't mind rain but windy weather!!!

We were due to go away on our first trip of the year this weekend to a localish CL. However the forecast for Sunday when we were due to come home is giving very strong winds with gusts up to nearly 50mph so I have cancelled! I have never cancelled a booking
before. Would others have gone and risked the wind or cancelled as well?
