Hi

I have just puchased my first Motorhome after many many years with cruisers. There seem to be many Sat Nav systems out there and I have got it down to two which I think will do the job.

The Garmin 760MT-D7 and the Avtex Club Edition

The Avtex has got the Club sites it but only a 6" screen and is some £70 more that the 760MT-D7.

Anybody out there who can tell me the best to buy any advise is most welcome.

Have never considered paying more than £100 for a Sat Nav.

All 'normal' one's are fine if used with common sense....however the cost may be of no consequence and the fact that it says 'Caravan' in the adverts may be considered more suitable!

You will get Yes and No answers!!Happy

Many thanks I was concerned that I needed to programme in the Rigs size and weight . I think from what you have said that I must not treat it as" the fountain of all knowledge".

The link is great thank you Farmhouse

Aldi will have, on the 17th of March, the Garmin Camper 660LMT-D Sat Nav at £199.99.  I have no idea how it rates as a Satnav, but it is a good price, as Amazon are selling it for nearly £261.  I know it's not the model you quoted but perhaps at that price
    worth further investigation?

That sounds like a good buy, dare I say it my Wife and Maps do not mix so I need the best or it will all end in !!!!!!!!!!!!!. which is not a good idea, has anybody out there tried the Avtex Club offering, which she favours.

Whichever you go for make sure you can add your own POI file. You will not always want to stop on camp sites. We used to keep our boat on the East Coast so know a few nice places where you can have a few free nights down by the water.

Am I missing something?  I use Navfree, now called navmii on my phone.  Its totally free, has all maps free across the world

And I can search for anything i need in the app.

Aside from caravan friendly specific sat navs I guess.  But Navmii has a "lorry route" option.  Never tried it though.

I use the Falcon Navigator. You can put in size / weight details but their support is very poor - they don't seem to answer emails
