I know all these heroes of our younger days ae ageing with us, but this news still came as a great shock. Never saw him perform live, never even bought any of his albums, but he was alays there at the forefront of popular music. And a fine actor too. Very sad news.

    RIP David Bowie

The Today Programmame Radio 4 is playing his music.  I was somewhat shocked to hear Nick Robinson cut an interview, about the new camp at Calais and migrants, short with words similar to 'sorry to cut you short but there is the important news of the death
    of David Bowie' Surprised

I take nothing away from the loss.  I was never keen OH always was, he's still asleep so doesn't know yet, his music grew on me and now I listen and think yeah not bad and of course his music was so distinctive that memories are instantly recalled when hearing
    his songs.

    RIP David Bowie

What a shock.  A sad loss to the music industry.  There is a new book just out written by one of his ex girlfriends.  RIP.  We seem to have lost a lot of inspiring people recently.

Like or dislike, he was an iconic performer, not just his music, but much more, he defined the 70's and 80's for a lot of people. Tragically too young, I was privileged to see him perform live on stage, and find the world a slightly sadder place today. RIP.

Don't often post here but truly, truly shocked when I heard the news on the way to work this morning. Shed a little tear. Liked his music, didn't love it but I would agree he was the most innovative changeling this world has ever seen. I doubt anyone will
ever match him. A true, true loss to the music and our world.

Watched the tributes to David Bowie on TV this evening. What a great talent. Such happy memories. My best memory is dancing on the tables at an event to Let's Dance in the 80s. Laughing

You have to admit that his last video (bandaged in a hospital bed) was a bit prophetic though - just like the man himself.  I remember Freddie Mercury did something similar just before he died.

Always sad when people die prematurely but I have to say I was not a fan. He couldn't sing although he was a charismatic performer. Born two months after me - help!
