Breaking down at ferry terminal or during crossing

We broke down at the Dover dockside last year whilst waiting to embark. Called our breakdown Company who got us going so we could get back home to get the car fixed before going back to Dover next day.

This year a Motorhome got stuck in Calais, on the apron 30 meters from the Eurotunnel train carriage entrance. We all drove past the poor chap and I never found out what happend.

I have seen cars fail to start when trying to leave the ferry at Calais and at Dover.

Has anybody had a similar experience and, if so, what help did you get from the ferry or tunnel operators?
