Anyone towed with a tivoli diesel. I know it is only a 1.6 but has 300Nm of torque at a low 1500 rpm. I have an ELX auto 4x4 on order and tow  a max of 1350 Kgs, I to with a Mitsubishi ASX 4x4 at present. The Tivoli has a listed max tow wieght of 1500Kgs.

The Tivoli is very new so I think you will struggle to find anyone who has experience of towing with one. However be careful with the weights you are quoting, the Tivoli is quite light and max towing weight does not mean it is safe or sensible to tow a caravan
    at that weight.

Looks to be adequate, but its max towing weight is more than its kerbweight so be certain the figures all add up.

Thanks , the auto 4x4 is the most weight and my caravan is never fully laden. It works out around 87% if the caravan is fully laden. Also I have been a caravanner for about 30 years. I was more concerned about it`s towing ability. I would never exceed the
    kerbweight.

Bought a Tivoli in March this year. So far we have only had one journey to North Yorks Moors site but no problems whatsoever. We have the 1.6 diesel EX 2wd. The caravan is a Compass Corona 472 (1240kg). Be careful of the kerbweight, brochure figures include
allowance for driver and full tsnk.

The maximum towing weight is the manufacturers recomendation. It will be illegal. The maximum towing wieght of my Audi was 2 tons according to Audi. But it wasn't stable above 50mph with 1.4 tons on the back. The 85% tow match rule is there for a reason.

The 85% 'rule' is a guide. My 'new' caravan is a 89% match to my towcar and I've just towed it today for the first time. It towed impeccably.

The maximum towing weight is based on the vehicles ability to start the load five times on a 12% hill and has nothing to do with safety. Not sure of the weight of the Tivoli but I would stick to a figure of no more than 90% when towing.

So which rule am I breaking towing at 93%? However towing over 100% is madness, even if it is legal.

It depends a lot on the stability of your outfit. My car was too small to to get much into. So nearly everything had to go in the van. With careful loading & good weather it was fine. But if the wind got up you wouldn't want to be driving it! The Audi had
great breaks & huge power. It could out accelerate most ordinary cars with the van on the back! But it just didn't have enough weight to be stable in cross winds. If the  boot was bigger & more could be carried in the car it would have been fine. But the awning
& cables was about all that would go in the car with everybody else. So there must be more to towmatch than power & brakes!
