Dangers of Cruise Control

Have had cruise control for many years but have only just learned about a serious safety issue in wet weather. If you have the control switched on in heavy rain and the car starts to aquaplane the cruise control will accelerate the wheels and almost certainly
produce an uncontrolled slide. It should therefore be switched off in those conditions. I believe at least one make of car with rain sensors will automatically prevent cruise control in wet weather.
