Buying a Motorhome in Europe

Once again we are thinking about swapping to a Motorhome and it occurs to me that since we are happy with LH drive and like Hymer it might make sense to buy new or secondhand in Germany (although Belgium is supposed to be cheap).

Does anybody know if there is import duty or any import restrictions either for new or secondhand? I met somebody last year who bought a new Hymer from the big show in Germany but I didn't get around to asking him about importing.
