Here,s another nice little money maker for our friends at the DVLA 
.As you may know you wont get a tax disc for your car anymore
but one or two other things have changed aswell.I was talking to my brother earlier today who has a motorcycle and at the end of August his mot ran out and the bike also needed taxing.No real problem but the bike failed its mot needing a new fuel tap
no big deal except the garage took nearly two weeks to get the new tap.In the meantime a letter drops through his letterbox with a £40 fine
from the DVLA 
for not taxing the bike or declareing it SORN and a promise that if the fine is not paid within 28days it will
double to £80 .Now the bike has been in the garage so NOT on the road.He does,nt want to SORN it he wants to use it but he cant tax it without
an MOT cert so what the hell are you supposed to do.The DVLA have said pay the fine and then write us a letter and you "might" get your money back in a few weeks but no promises
So take heed everyone.
