Nowt as strange as folk
Just had a wonderful time at Troutbeck Head in Cumbria, 2nd visit so not newbies.
I was dumbfounded by the lack of friendliness of fellow caravaners. We have been members for 2 years now and have met some really nice people but when you ask about some members being unfriendly they all say thats correct. I've taken to saying hello to everyone
now and checking the response, on the whole you get one, but this time it was particularly bad, I even said hello to a man who was standing in the middle of the road as I walked passed, he looked at me as if I was a Martian and looked away, another day, someone
was maneuvering their caravan into a pitch so I had to wait for about 10 mins to get by, no problem we've all been there, once unhitched, the man turned his back and went to his caravan and the woman got in the car and drove it onto another pitch opposite
as I drove past I expected at least a wave of thanks, I got bugger all! yes you know who you are dark blue Passat in pitch 129. I/we dont go out of our way to chat to folk but we are polite to everyone and thank them were necessary.
Some members say thats what its like on Club sites and the Caravan and Camping club is far more friendly
Sorry but had to get it off my chest.
