Edinburgh one o'clock gun

Any members used the Edinburgh Club Site in November, been in the city and heard the one o'clock gun firing at 11.00 on the 11th to mark the start of the 2 minutes silence, and then fire again at 11.02 for the end?

I'm told it does, but when I contacted Visit Scotland for confirmation, they said they had no knowledge of this happening.

If anyone could confirm it does fire, I would be very grateful.
