Any old iron

Ive just this minute got back from Tesco and as i got out of my car a transit van is driveing slowly up the road and the driver is ringing a school bell and shouting any old iron at the top of his voice
.I was immediatly taken back to my childhood and memories of dustmen when thay used to carry your metal bin on their shoulders from your
back garden,empty it into the dustcart and take it back again.Like coalmen they wore a leather cape on their backs with metal studs in it to protect them.I can also remember that these bins eventually rotted through and the bottom would fall out as the binman
picked it up leaving ashes and rubbish all over the yard .
