Painted Tow Ball Alko Hitch ?

Could someone please help me, we shall be taking delivery of our newer Van next wedensday and it has a Alko aks3004 hitch, our tow car has a black painted ( i think its painted) removable tow bar and a friend has said that the towball needs the paint to
removed something to do with friction pads, if it does need the paint removing, whats the best way to remove the paint without damaging the tow ball Please

also any advice about towing with the AKS3004 it's the first van we've had with this type of hitch, anything to make sure is done ar anything that may feel different to the standard type hitch Cheers Eamonn
