Double bed dilemma

We have a fixed double bed with Raskelf memory foam topper which is incredibly comfortable but are considering downsizing to a smaller van with conventional bench seats converting to double or two single beds. In the past we have not found the foam cushions
very comfortable for protracted use and would like to carry a topper to lay over. Has anybody done this and, if so, how to store it in transit? Maybe two single pieces? Is it clumsy to make up?
