Petrol towing car car now a better option?
As a returning member, this is my very first post.
I am loooking to change my 7-year old VW Golf 2.0TDI estate and am now considering whether petrol is the route to take. It is suggested that owners of diesel cars will likely have to pay ever increasing excise duty, in view of the current scandal concerning emmissions.
Even before this hit the news, I had decided to go for a 2 or 3-year old 'used' 4-wheel drive SUV or a 2-wheel drive SUV. Is there a petrol vehicle that is relatively economical. We will be reducing to one car and do about 12,000 miles per annum minimum. A Honda petrol CRV has been suggested or a Skoda Yeti. As there are only two of us, a large vehicle isn't necessary. Any suggestions should be welcomed. (We tow a 5-year old 2-berth Coachman Amara)
